Conference opened with a punchy video, to show the wealth of activities planned for our Annual Conference and Exhibition (ACE) 2023, against the beautiful backdrop of the Celtic Manor Resort in Wales. This got everyone motivated and ready for the jam-packed two days ahead.
Clare thanked our sponsors and extended a warm welcome to our overseas guests, who had travelled from all corners of the world, including America, Canada, South Africa and Australia.
Clare went on to discuss some of the recent activity the CIPP has been carrying out, covering the areas of: l policy and research l membership l Advisory l the Payroll Assurance Scheme (PAS) l National Payroll Week.
And, of course, in addition to activity that has been and gone, Clare also took a look to the future and excitingly, the whole raft of activity yet to come, including: l responses to government consultations and calls for evidence l the IPP being Ofqual recognised for assessing the Level 5 Payroll Assistant Manager apprenticeship l the graduation ceremony 2023 l consultancy
l the annual general meeting (AGM) l BeConnected sessions in 2023.
“It’s always a brilliant conference. I felt the workshops were even more informative this year. The highlights for me were the policy team and Justine Riccomini. Justine should have her own show. She is just brilliant” Trudy Bailey MCIPP, UK and Ireland payroll manager, Arrow Electronics UK Ltd
Clare then declared conference open, reminding attendees that sponsors were there to speak to, and the CIPP was on hand to help with anything they needed.
“Great for networking and finding other payroll
professionals that specialise in what we cater for but also for speaking to others about their payroll processes and needs”
