Peter for all the disciples, because in Matthew 18:18 is recorded the same promise to them all. The keys were undoubtedly the Gospel of God’s grace. The keys were used on the day of Pente cost for the Jews, and in the home of Cornelius for the Gentiles. The binding and loosing referred to in this instance has to do with the declarative authority given to the disciples in preaching the truth. On the authority of the Word of God every minister proclaims who will be saved and who will be lost. Accept ance or rejection of Jesus Christ deter mines the matter. The preacher is ex pected to tell men so in no uncertain terms. There is no room in this passage for the bold claims of Romanism. The Crimson Path vv. 21-25 Following the revelation of Christ con cerning His church and the responsi bility of the disciples in it, then it was that Jesus “ began” (v. 21) to speak definitely and positively concerning the necessity of His Passion. It seemed an impossible thing, even to such a one as Peter, that this should happen to his Lord but so it “must” be. And they who will follow the Son of God must tread the way of self-denial. If you were to ask a large group of people to tell you who Jesus was, what do you suppose their answers would be? Some would say that He was a great teacher; others would say that He was a liar who claimed to be the Son of God. You would find few who would say like Peter, “ Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.” One day when God’s Son was upon the earth He asked His disciples, “Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?” They answered that some believed that He was John the Baptist come to life after his death, and others thought that He was one of the Old Testament prophets who had come to life again. Then the Saviour looked at His disciples and said, “ But whom say ye that I am?” Peter gave the only true answer to Jesus’ question, “ Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.” God’s Son rejoiced that Peter truly believed in Him. Whom do you boys and girls believe Jesus to be? Is He just another man that you read about in history as you read about many great men? Is He just the leader of another religion like Mohammed or Confucius? Is He just a great teacher or a good example for people to follow? Is He just a Saviour for the entire world, or is He your Saviour from sin? Even Satan believes that Jesus is the Son of God! Those who correctly think about Jesus Christ know that He is the Son of God who Helps For The Children Jesus, the Son of God Matthew 16:13-17 Memory Verse: “ Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God” (Matthew 16:16).

Am I M y Brother 9s Keeper? IN IND IA I asked myself this ques tion when I saw thousands of home less sleeping in the streets of Cal cutta and Bombay. When I saw half starved children and “ hunger limp” babies like the one above. IN KOREA (M y schedule did not permit me to examine the 28 or phanages in which CCF assists Korean children). There is only ugliness and misery in Korea. W an dering refugees, little ragged chil dren, destroyed homes. There is hardly a family not broken, fathers taken prisoners or shot, mothers abused and carried of? or left dead behind a broken wall. A destroyed country** of rubble, rags, disease, hunger and human misery. The sick little children of India, the wandering orphans of Korea, that flaxen haired German miss, who saw her father killed, does God charge me with their plight? I have returned from overseas with the realization that the Communists care enough to make very success ful capital of democracy’s failures and with the strong conviction that we Americans can not close our eyes or stop our ears to the cry of a hungry child anywhere in the world — black, brown, yellow or white. The hungry children o f the world are more dangerous to us than the atom bomb.

CCF assists children in 97 or phanages in the following coun tries: Borneo, Brazil, Burma, Fin land, Formosa, Indonesia, India, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Korea, Lap- land, Lebanon, Malaya, Okinawa, Pakistan, Philippines, Puerto Rico, United States and Western Ger many. You can adopt a child in any of these countries for ten dol lars a month and the child’s name, address, picture and information about the child will be furnished. Correspondence with the child is invited. Smaller gifts are equally welcome. God sees not the coin but the heart that gives it.

IN JAPAN in the Elizabeth Saun ders Home for GI babies, deserted by their American fathers, and 18 other CCF orphanages, all over-crowded. IN GERMANY where I saw some of the several million people who are refugees in their own country. Those who escaped from East Ger many won their freedom at great cost. Few families escaped intact. Children, parents, wives and hus bands shot down or dragged off to labor camps. Those who escaped are destitute. They can’t find work and have inadequate food and shelter.
