Sustainability and climate change
The Chancery Lane Project is a non-profit initiative dedicated to creating and providing free, accessible resources that organisations and lawyers around the world can use now to help transition to a decarbonised and equitable economy. Our involvement over the last year has seen our lawyers from across the globe helping to transpose clauses from the UK playbook for use in other jurisdictions. We also continued our secondment opportunity for a UK trainee to support the organisation’s work and increase its capacity. Other partnerships in this area include our work with Legal Response International (LRI) to provide legal support to climate- vulnerable developing states and non-state actors, including during international climate negotiations. During COP27 we did this in various ways, including sending an accredited trainee with the LRI delegation and providing general logistical support.
We are committed to reducing our carbon emissions footprint, adopting environmentally responsible commercial practices and strategies and supporting our clients and peers to achieve their own decarbonisation goals.
