The East Coast of Tasmania stretches from Bridport to the Tasman Peninsula and encompasses tourist based towns such as Bridport, St Helens, Scamander, Bicheno, Coles Bay, Swansea, Orford, Sorell, Dunalley, Taranna, Nubeena and Port Arthur. East coast tourism market

With over 430,000 visitors to the east coast each year, various new tourism developments are being proposed: BRIDPORT In 2023 the Bridport foreshore masterplan was released which includes boat ramp extensions and a new jetty, a new Port Entrance, commercial wharf & Port Marina. Tourism continues to grow through the world renowned golf courses – Barnbougle Dunes, Lost Farm and Bougle Run. Owner and developer, Richard Sattler has plans for a 4th golf course. ST HELENS Tasmania has established itself as Australia’s leading Mountain Bike Trail destination. The most popular is the Blue Derby in the Dorset Municipality which attracts 30,000 riders a year. The 43 kilometre Bay of Fires descent now links with the 8 kilometre Branxholm-Derby link trail and onto the 66 kilometre stacked loop network of trails at St Helens. FREYCINET NATIONAL PARK/COLES BAY The Freycinet National Park is the jewel in the crown for the East Coast with around 281,000 visitors annually. Wineglass Bay is world renowned and cruise ships often anchor in the bay. A recent Freycinet Peninsula Master Plan will incorporate car parking, electric vehicle charging,
