THEME : The credibility of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. T ext : “ And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.”—1' Corinthians 15:4. “ To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, -being seen o f them forty days, and speaking o f the things pertaining to the kingdom o f God.”—Acts 1 :3. I ntroduction . The important place o f the doctrine in ■the Christian system. I. T he N ature of the R esurrection of J esus C hrist . 1. The meaning o f credibility. 2. The meaning o f Christ’s resurrection; Negatively : S (a ) Not a swoon. g|(b ) Not a resuscitation. (c ) Not continued existence o f the soul only o f Jesus. P ositively; A literal resurrection o f the physical body o f Jesus Christ from the tomb in Joseph’s garden. II. T he P roof of the R esurrection of J esus C hrist . Methods o f P roof: . 1. Cause and effect. Here are certain effects, the causes for which can be traced only to the fact o f Christ’s resurrection.

T he R esults of J esus C hrist ’ s R esurrection . 1. With reference to Christ Himself: (a ) It marked Him off as the Son o f God in a unique sense (Romans 1:4). (b ) It was the seal o f the divine ap­ proval upon all His claims (Acts 2:23, 24). 2. With reference to the believer: (a ) Assures him o f his acceptance with God (Romans 4:25). (b ) Assures him o f all needed power (Ephesians 1:19-22). (c ) Grants to him the Holy Ghost (John 7:37-39; Acts 2:33). (d ) Is a guarantee o f his own resur­ rection and immortality (2 Corinthians 4:14; John 14:19). 3. With reference to the world of men: (a ) Guarantees the resurrection o f all men (1 Corinthians 15 :22). (b ) Assures them o f the certainty o f a coming judgment (Acts 17-31). Conclusion. THEME—THE NEW BJRTH T ext : “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verilyy I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom o f God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old ? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? Jesus an­ swered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Ex­ cept a man be born o f water and o f the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born o f the flesh is flesh; and that which is horn o f the Spirit is spifit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.”—John 3:3-7.
