When did God choose us? 2 Thess. 2:13; Eph. 1:4. Are all things ours ? 1 Cor. 3 :22. Are all thngs for our sake? 2 Cor. 4:15. To whom can we trust all things ? Eph. 1:11-14; 2 Tim. 1:9. What is the ultimate object o f our pre­ destination? John 17:21; 1 Cor. 15:49; Eph. 1:10. What is our ultimate position ? Col. 3 :4 ; 1 John 3 :2. PRACTICAL POINTS (1) W e must fight the flesh in the strength o f the^Spirit.

(2) The believer is delivered from the bondage o f slavery, to the blessing o f Sonship. (3) There is a contrast between our rela­ tion by regeneration, and our posi­ tion and privilege by adoption. (4) God has predestined us to be con­ formed to the pattern o f His Son. (5) The material world is sin stricken and sobs out its story o f sorrow. ( 6 ) The redemption o f our bodies will be the signal for the regeneration o f the whole creation. (7) The Heart Searcher knows just what the spiritual health-seeker needs, and He intercedes for it. ( 8 ) Believers have the best o f it. The Almighty makes all things work together for .their welfar.e.

EXPOSIT ION AND PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS

v. 1. “Now Peter and John were going up into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour." Peter and John were men o f prayer, and they observed the reg­ ular Jewish hour o f prayer, and they went to 'the house that God had appointed to be a house o f prayer as a proper place to pray (cf. Ps. 5:5, 17; Dan. 6:10; 9:21).

The ninth hour, three o’clock in the after­ noon, according to'the mode o f reckoning time in the Acts o f the Apostles, was the hour o f prayer, because it was the hour o f sacrifice (Ex. 29:39; 1 Kings 18:36) and all approach to God in prayef must be on the ground o f shed blood (Heb. 10:i9, 20; 9:22; John 14:6).
