Estates Programmer / Scheduler Essential Qualifications, Skills, Experience & Knowledge

1. Possession of a degree in a relevant subject, working towards the equivalent.

2. A good knowledge of Microsoft Project and Microsoft’s Enterprise Project Management (EPM) or equivalent software.

3. An excellent understanding of project management principles with construction/maintenance knowledge.

4. A good knowledge of the different forms of construction contracts and sound appreciation of contractual arrangements.

5. A successful track record in producing Project Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and calculating the necessary Resource Breakdown Structure, aligned with RIBA stages of design and delivery of construction projects. Experience of monitoring and analysing performance to ensure critical path is maintained and resource levels are optimised. Service Delivery 6. Experience of the organisation, delivery and coordination of high quality complex construction projects and programmes, actively seeking and acting on feedback from internal and external stakeholders in order to ensure the continuous improvement and enhancement of our estate, through efficient and effective project management. Teamwork 7. Evidence of the ability to work effectively in and across multiple teams simultaneously. Working collaboratively across teams to identify and pursue shared goals and enabling teams to achieve those challenging goals. Be able to adapt effectively to a fast changing environment. Communication 8. Evidence of excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills including the ability to persuade, influence and establish positive working relationships that enable effective collaboration with a range of internal and external stakeholders. Creativity and Innovation

9. A proven ability to proactively identify new opportunities and implement new ways of working/creative solutions to complex problems using effective management information to underpin analysis and inform decision making.

Whilst these performance attributes may relate to this role more specifically for recruitment and selection purposes, following appointment, all members of staff are expected to demonstrate effective performance across all six of our University’s performance attributes.
