Reeder & Vermaat began in 1977 when founders Charlie Reeder and Bill Vermaat set out to build a different kind of manufacturers’ representative group—one defined by integrity, expertise, and genuine partnership. In the company’s first year, Charlie was diagnosed with cancer and tragically passed away. Bill honored their shared vision by carrying the mission forward, spending countless weeks on the road and building the foundation of what Reeder & Vermaat has become today. As Bill often jokes, “Starting a manufacturers’ rep business in May was one of the silliest things I’ve ever done.” From the very beginning, Bill committed to surrounding himself with the best people in the industry. He hand-selected talent one individual at a time, focusing on character, technical expertise, and reputation. Over nearly five decades, only fifteen people have ever worked for Reeder & Vermaat—each chosen with intention and each helping shape the strength of the company. This deliberate approach created one of the most respected field teams in the industry and cultivated lasting relationships with top-tier manufacturers. Many of our vendor partners have been with us for more than 15 years, a testament to our consistency, reliability, and commitment to excellence. For decades, Reeder & Vermaat has held itself to a higher standard—and our manufacturers have recognized and valued that dedication. As Bill planned for the future, one of his final major steps was ushering in a new generation of leadership—his “youth movement”—to ensure that Reeder & Vermaat continues to thrive for decades to come.
Today, that legacy is carried forward by Pat McNamara, Jim Assemany, Sam Coleman, Tim Breuning, Dane Hudlik, Allen Lamacz, and Hayden Stinnett.
