POINT BONDING Point bonding is a pro- cess used in polyester spun-bonded filtration media where a patterned roller creates small welded dimples that lock fibers together for strength while still allowing flexibility. These welds help form an effective filter cake in pool and spa filters, improving particle capture and water flow around the bonded points. When the filter becomes dirty, the uniform weld pattern makes it easier to clean by helping debris release instead of fully clogging the media.
ONCORE’S WEB LOFT uses fine, high- density polyester fibers to create many small, consistent pores that trap debris quickly and deliver cleaner water faster. Surface welds don’t penetrate fully, al- lowing water to flow through the entire media loft. This design provides more fiber surface area and superior filtration compared to competitors.
