6.11 Nesting (Designer Edition only) To minimize the space required to cut a certain design, the Nesting feature can be used. You can choose to use your entire media surface to nest you shapes or create a specific area for them to nest in. Use Cut Area If you choose to Use Cut Area, your entire media surface can be used to nest shapes. Use Selected If you would like to nest your shapes within a certain area, first draw that area on your workspace. Next, click on Use Selected in the Nesting menu. Nesting will occur within this defined area. Select all the shapes you would like to nest. In the Nesting menu, you can adjust the rotations and padding of the shapes to be nested. Increasing rotations and/or decreasing padding will yield a tighter nest. After making any necessary adjustments, click Nest and the shapes will nest together to maximize space. If you have selected more shapes than will fit in the nesting area, the software will determine which shapes fit best in the defined area.
