Silhouette Studio® V4 | Chapter 11 - PixScan™

11 - PixScan™ The PixScan™ feature requires the use of a PixScan™ mat (PixScan™ mat sold separately).

This feature allows for the use of images that are already printed which have not originated from the Silhouette Studio® software. The PixScan™ mat provides the ability to cut according to an image’s actual size whether it be to provide a contour cut around the image, or to nest images into an oddly shaped material precisely, or to replicate a pattern at its original size. 11.1 Import from Scanner When importing directly from a scanner, you may perform the following steps:

1. Place the intended printed image onto the PixScan™ mat which you wish to cut.

IMPORTANT: Ensure the image is within the mat’s cutting area as shown by the black line border on the mat.

2. Click on the PixScan™ Icon in the Silhouette Studio® software. 3. Select the Import from Scanner section. 4. Place the image on the PixScan™ mat face down onto the scanner. 5. Select your scanner from the Source drop-down list and click on the Import PixScan™ Image from Scanner option.

IMPORTANT: If the PixScan™ mat is larger than the scanner, you may scan in two passes. You will need to ensure that all markings on the mat are captured along with the actual image. If scanning in multiple passes, you do not need to worry if the scanned images overlap. The software will knit the images together properly.
