Silhouette Studio® V4 | Chapter 12 - Curio Features

12 - Curio Features Some features found in Silhouette Studio® can only be used when the Curio is connected. The Curio provides select options that cannot be performed by other Silhouette tools. 12.1 Embossing The Silhouette Curio™ is capable of embossing when using the Curio’s embossing mat. Once the embossing mat has been set up for use, you may go to the Embossing icon. At the top of the Embossing menu, you will find an option to select either Deboss or Emboss. This option will apply to the entire document and is not object-specific.

When Deboss is selected, your job will be processed as it is viewed on screen. The action of the embossing tool pressing down onto your material will create a recessed relief of the image, or Deboss effect.

When Emboss is selected, while you will continue to see your job as it has been designed on screen, your job will be flipped horizontally when processed so that the entire page is mirrored. The action of the embossing tool pressing down in a mirror image will allow the material to be flipped over after the job is completed to display a raised image, or Emboss effect.

IMPORTANT: When selecting to Emboss, make sure you place your material onto the embossing mat face down. Select one of the following embossing options in the software to set up your image to be debossed or embossed as desired.
