Score & Emboss The Score & Emboss option is a special action that will first score around the edges of your image (with a blade), and then will press inside of the score line (with an embossing tool). The resulting effect provides a more dramatic deboss relief or raised emboss effect. IMPORTANT: This feature is intended for use with Silhouette brand “Score & Emboss Paper”. Silhouette cannot guarantee effective results when using other material types. All further instructions assume the use of Silhouette brand “Score & Emboss Paper”. When going to Score & Emboss an image, begin by selecting the Embossing Tip type.
Selecting the Fine embossing tool will provide a more pronounced emboss/deboss effect and have the emboss line closer to the score line. Selecting the Wide embossing tool will provide a softer emboss/deboss effect and have the emboss line farther from the score line.
IMPORTANT: Make sure the Embossing Tip selected in the software matches the actual Embossing Tool that has been placed into the Silhouette Curio™ You may adjust additional settings found under the Score & Emboss options if desired. The options found here will allow you to control how many embossing passes are performed after the image has been scored.
By default, the image will only be embossed a single time close to the score line.
Raising the Passes option will allow you to perform an additional number of impressions made inside of the score line.
Fill will have the selected image filled entirely by a series of emboss lines.
Once you have all settings to your liking, you may then select the image and click on Apply Score & Emboss Lines.
When ready, you may go to adjust your settings if needed by clicking on the Adjust Cut Settings button. The action to Apply Score & Emboss Lines will have automatically set up your job to be scored and then embossed according to the options selected. IMPORTANT: Ensure that your blade is placed into the Curio’s left-hand tool holder (identified by the red circle) at a blade setting of “1”, and that your desired embossing tool is placed into the right-hand tool holder (identified by the blue circle).
