12.3 Multiple tool use The Silhouette Curio™ and Silhouette CAMEO® 3 have two tool holders so that multiple tools can be used simultaneously. This means that you are able to perform two different actions during the same job, such as cut, emboss, etch, stipple, and sketch. When Silhouette Curio™ is detected, Silhouette Studio® will provide an option in the Send panel to allow various line sets to be assigned to the different tool holders.

When in the Send Panel, you may select your desired object in your workspace and then click on the associated Tool holder option you want to use.

This will assign the selected line to be performed by the desired tool you have placed into the associated tool holder.

When in the Advanced Cut Mode, you can assign your lines to be performed by the desired tool holder by clicking onto the associated circle found under the Tool column. This can be performed according to Line Color or Fill Color, or if using the Designer Edition version you may also set up your job to various tools according to Layer.

Clicking on the left-hand red circle will have the selected row performed by the Curio’s left-hand tool, whereas clicking on the right-hand blue circle will have the selected row performed by the Curios’ right-hand tool. If you have more than two tool types you wish to use within the same job, you can right-click to add a pause in order to stop the Curio between actions and change out your tool as needed.
