13 - Designer Edition Plus Features Silhouette Studio® Designer Edition Plus has a two extra features: appliqué embroidery and advanced rhinestones. 13.1 Appliqué Embroidery Silhouette Studio® Designer Edition Plus enables you to import appliqué embroidery files. If your embroidery file has a placement stitch layer, you can use it to cut out the appliqué shapes using your Silhouette cutting machine. To do so, upload your embroidery file to Silhouette Studio®. You can import the following embroidery formats with Designer Edition Plus: PES (Brother, Babylock, Deco, Singer) DST (Tajima, Barudan, Toyota) EXP (Stellar, Melco)
JEF (Janome) XXX (Singer)
Open your file in the design screen. Delete the extra embroidery shapes so only the placement stitch line remains.
Send your shape to your Silhouette and cut your shape out of your fabric. Now you have a perfectly cut appliqué.
