Participants are introduced to the elements of art: line, shape, color, texture, form, space, and value and become immersed in hands-on art using a variety of mediums to explore creative expression, leading to personal artistic discoveries. The non-toxic material is super easy to clean up and will harden over time. The finished dried projects can be colored with paint pens before bringing them home. All the clay, decorations, and art supplies are included, and they’re all non-toxic! Reserve your spot today in this small group workshop. In addition to having fun, students will use unexpected ideas and materials along with various concepts including line, form, color, shape to make art objects. We’ll also try out different hands-on techniques like drawing, painting, sculpting, combining, constructing, gluing, hot gluing, cutting, sawing, sanding, drilling, tying, wiring, and thinking. Some of the topics we plan to cover are: aliens, flying saucers, airplanes, sail boats, birds, skulls, hearts, robots, super heroes, snakes, alligators, animals, people and wherever our imagination takes us. Parents, clear off your refrigerator and mantel, because your camper will be creating a lot of unique and fun art that you’ll want to display. Through drama games, improv, music, and movement, students will collaborate to create their own tale as old as time incorporating themes of kindness, community, love, and discovering inner beauty. This class fosters self-expression, creativity, imagination, and teamwork. The session culminates in a one-of-kind performance. When artistic ideas explode, who knows what students will come up with! Create art using markers, pencils, paint, chalk, glitter, sticks, scrap wood, shells, cardboard, hot glue and more. We will take material donations such as corks, happy meal toys, string, etc. Participants should also bring a lunch, snacks and something to drink. Center St. 114933 Jun 9-12 T-F 10:00 am-2:00 pm $255/$285 Creating with Clay: Summer Gnomes and Their Woodland Homes • AGES 6-12 NEW Get ready for an exciting five-day camp adventure where children meet and befriend summer gnomes and their cozy woodland homes. They will get to sculpt and design their own unique gnome characters using air-dry clay. These adorable creations will be built in their own miniature summer woodland worlds, filled with forest animals, mushrooms, flowers, and trees. Once a piece is done, the finishing touches with vibrant acrylic paints, a gloss sealer, and special paint pens can be applied. Each participant will get a personalized storage box to proudly display their work. All the clay, decorations, and art supplies will be provided, and they’ll be safe and non- toxic. To make sure projects come home safely, please bring a shoebox- sized box and an old kitchen towel by the end of the second day of class.
