Major Cities Comparison

The following graphs are a mid-year comparison (January - June) of Fort Worth, TX (854,113) to benchmark cities with either a similar population or proximity. Comparable cities with their population noted in parentheses include: Dallas, TX (1,197,816), Austin, TX (1,317,929), El Paso, TX (683,080), Charlotte-Mecklenburg, NC (731,424), Columbus, OH (860,090), Indianapolis, IN (855,164), Jacksonville, FL (880,619), and San Francisco, CA (870,887). Population data source is the U.S. Census Bureau. Comparable data source is the Major Cities Chiefs Association. The offenses com- pared include homicide, rape, robbery, and aggravated assault. The next six month comparison will be part of the Fourth Quarter Crime Report.
