A Message from the Executive Director

It never gets old saying thank you to our amazing members, sponsors and partner organizations. Each of you has a huge impact on the success of AMA and the Alaska mining industry, so I'll say it again ... thank you! Your support is invaluable in helping tell our story at home and abroad, and we couldn't do what we do at AMA without you. We've been traveling a lot recently, including to a number of outstanding events. Alaska Night at Roundup is one and is among the highlights of the year. Alaska Night was again well-attended and it's always a time for many to catch up. See photos from the event starting on Page 8. I would be remiss to not again offer a resounding thank you to those who sponsored Alaska Night. You can see the full list on Page 8-9. Soon we also will have our fourth annual Juneau Mining Forum, which is always enlightening on many fronts. There are many notable speakers planned to discuss a number of important topics surrounding Alaska mining. I would like to invite you for what continues to be an engaging discussion each year. See more about the Forum on Page 6. Looking ahead to April, we're excited to again have our Faribanks Convention and Trade Show on April 6-10. The Committee has been hard at work to again make this a fantastic event ... as it always is. If you haven't taken advantage of trip discounts yet, you can find a full list on Page 4, as well as the event sponsor listings on Page 5 (again, another big thank you!). On Pages 16-19, you will find AMA's annual state and federal Issues on Concern. If you haven't seen them yet, I would urge you to read them over to familiarize yourself on the challeges Alaska's miners currently face. On the communications front, AMA continues to host our statewide Zoom calls every other Friday (full schedule of events on Page 34) and our branches are meeting in person, too. These meetups provide an opportunity for each of us to share insights about what we’re working on, what’s going right and what we can improve on for the good of our mining industry. I encourage you to invite friends to our Zoom calls so they can see all the exceptional things that are being done here in Alaska, at the federal level and even globally. Many branches are meeting locally as well; you can always find good conversation about various topics at these. AMA also is working on our 2026 Alaska Miners Handbook and Service Directory, which will be out soon. We can’t wait to share this edition of the Bible of Alaska mining with all of you! Looking ahead to the rest of a busy 2026, things are looking bright for Alaska’s miners with support in Washington and abroad for the valuable roles we all play. Thanks for all that you do to be involved, whether it is sponsor, speak, help plan, attend ... anything. Together, I know we are doing an amazing job sharing the value of our industry.
