Ostrand Angus - 25th Production Sale [2/18/26]

TO OSTRAND ANGUS

Fellow Cattlemen & Friends, We are humbled to welcome you back to our ranch south of Ansley, Nebraska, as we celebrate our 25th Annual Production Sale . Time truly does fly when you are doing what you love. Bull sale season is one of our favorite “seasons,” and we look forward to seeing our customers and friends—along with meeting new ones and learning more about your operation. Our goal has always been to raise cattle with balanced traits, from maternal strength to performance, that work for you and help make your ranch profitable. We feel this sale offering checks all of those boxes. What a blessing it is to be in the cattle industry at this time. Through the risks and long hours, ranching is more than a business—it is a lifestyle. While today’s record prices are rewarding, they are a small return for being good stewards of the land and livestock we’ve been blessed with. We especially commend cow/ calf producers for staying the course through the years. It is also a blessing to share this lifestyle as a family. Being in this industry allows us to raise our children with a strong work ethic, responsibility, and respect for the land. Our girls are homeschooled this year, which allows them to be involved in daily ranch duties. This truly is a family operation, and we are grateful to carry on a tradition that is about far more than monetary value, even when the years are good. Our sale offering this year consists of 160 December-, January-, and a few February-born yearling bulls, representing 55% of the bulls born this past year. These are the cowboy kind of bulls—developed on a high-roughage ration designed for steady gain, sound feet and structure, fertility, and longevity. Their power and superior growth will make them winners on your ranch, and we haven’t forgotten docility either. In addition, we are offering 53 fancy registered yearling heifers, representing the maternal foundation of Ostrand Angus. To assist you in your selection process, a complete list of performance data is available in our catalog and upcoming supplement sheet. Each bull has been DNA-tested with the Angus GS test and is parentage-verified. This year’s offering features a strong set of deep-bodied, performance-packed bulls. They have gained an average of 4.27 lbs./day, posting an average adjusted 365-day weight of 1,340 pounds. We feel this fits right in line with our goal of slow, steady growth with longevity in mind. The average adjusted weaning weight is 748 lbs., with an average WW EPD of +87, ranking in the top 7% of the Angus breed. Thank you for investing in and supporting our family as we host our 25th Production Sale. To help celebrate, we are giving away TWO $2,500 sale credits— ONE to any buyer registered in person, and ONE to a youth (ages 0-18) in attendance toward a heifer purchase. The Angus industry is top-notch, and we feel truly blessed to continue raising high-quality Angus cattle. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have questions or would like to view the bulls or heifers prior to February 18. We always enjoy hearing from our customers and appreciate your interest in Ostrand Angus genetics. We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday, February 18th at 1 PM. Come early for a hot lunch and get entered into the sale credit drawing, then stay for a bowl of homemade ice cream. Our sale will also be broadcast on DVAuction if you are unable to join us in person.
