Welcome to our 31st annual production sale! In 1967 my Grandfather, James Bogle, gave me a commercial black cow for my 5th birthday and since that day the passion to breed and raise beef cattle has been the driving force of Pleasant Hill Farms. In 1972 with the purchase of a registered Angus heifer, sired by Clank of Wye, the seed stock business began and I started selling bulls to commercial cattlemen in 1976 one bull at a time. Thirty one years ago, in 1995, we began to have an annual bull sale. After experimenting with Simmental cattle, thru AI, during the late 70s & 80s we decided to add Simmental to our seed stock operation in 2006. Daily, I think about what would Grand Dad have to say about all of this! But, most importantly, I am forever grateful for the time spent with him and all that he taught me. In 2026 I can only imagine what he would think about the current beef cattle business! What an incredible time to be part of such a vivacious industry that continues to gain momentum! Passion is the driving force behind what we do. Our passion for beef cattle, agriculture and customer service are the three reasons we continue to do what we do, breed excellent beef cattle and anticipate the future! Our three goals driven by our passion are simple: To breed and raise the highest quality beef cattle possible, To provide the very best customer service and To keep the family farm going and growing. Without question this is the very best set of cattle that we have ever offered! We are offering a tremendous set of Angus and Simmental bulls, a phenomenal set of Angus and Simmental pairs, and an excellent set of commercial open heifers! The Bulls: Our genetics continue to take massive strides in profit building characteristics. Traits like fertility, desirable calving ease, soundness, structural integrity, foot quality, fleshing ability, longevity, advantageous carcass traits and pounds of production are areas of consistent focus. The Angus, SimAngus and Simmental genetics offered here are second to none! We have grown these bulls on a high roughage forge based ration. All of the bulls have DNA data, ultrasound data, and are weighed, measured, and semen tested. All of the bulls offered for sale will be guaranteed breeders. Every bull will qualify for the Phase One Tobacco money for both Kentucky and Tennessee and we will furnish the paperwork necessary to obtain those funds. This is an exceptional set of Angus and Simmental females. Every cow has either put a bull in our bull sale, a heifer in our replacement herd or both. The calves on these cows are sired by breed leading sires. The Angus cows are genetically progressive and their calves even more so. On the Simmental side of the females being offered, the Patriot and Anthem calves on the side of these cows are breed leading genetics that have so much to offer. Make sure and pay close attention to the udder quality and progressive genetic value in these Simmental cows and calves! We greatly appreciate each one of them and how they continue to utilize our cattle in their breeding programs. Each of these progressive beef cattle breeders has a name synonymous with integrity, quality and value. It takes an incredible TEAM to make it all work in Rockfield, KY! Thank you to my entire family, Mary, Corbin, Caroline, Catherine and Grandy. To say that I am proud of our progeny, is an understatement! Mary and I are so blessed with our three and they continue to put PHF at the top of their priorities. I am extremely proud of Corbin’s devotion to the agricultural industry and especially appreciative of all that he does for our family operation. He is a tremendous asset of beef cattle knowledge and is more than willing to help you with your selections offered in this production sale. Easton Scott, Morne’ Myburgh and Dwain Didloff joined Pleasant Hill Farms in the summer and fall of 2025 and have made an immediate impact in such an overwhelmingly positive way! Their commitment to always doing the right thing and constantly making improvements is impressive. We are extremely appreciative of their daily contributions to the operation.
