QUESTION SUR LE RAPPORT D’INSPECTION DE L’EAU DE L’AP positif, mais un conseiller se demande s’il est possible d’élargir les directives d’inspection pour les prochains rapports. L’Association pour l’assainissement de l’eau de l’Ontario (AEEO) inspecte régulièrement les réseaux d’eau municipaux du canton d’Alfred- Plantagenet et d’autres collectivités. Le dernier rapport de l’AEEO donne de bonnes notes au canton pour son système de filtration et de traitement de l’eau, mais le conseiller Ian Walker a demandé si les futures inspections pourraient également vérifier les traces de pesticides ou d’autres contaminants qui ne sont pas couverts par le processus d’inspection actuel.

Walker. Les inspections de l’AEEO portent principa- lement sur la présence d’E. coli ou d’autres bactéries pathogènes. Jonathan Gendron, directeur de la construction, de la planification, de l’ingénierie et de l’environnement du canton, a indiqué au conseil qu’il contacterait l’AEEO au sujet de la possibilité d’élargir les directives d’inspection de l’eau.

Das alljährliche Fest aller bayerischen Dinge ist zurück in Clarence-Rockland! Translation, the annual celebration of all things Bavarian is back in Clarence-Rockland! First held in Munich, Germany in 1810, Oktoberfest was initially a celebration of the marriage of King Ludwig I, and the party has taken place every year since, save for a few years where a war or two broke out across Europe. L’Oktoberfest est de retour à Rockland, au RiverRock Inn and Conference centre, les 22 et 23 septembre. Brauwerk Hoffman célèbre le festival bavarois avec de la bière, de la nourriture, de la musique, des concours et bien plus encore. In the years following the King’s marriage, the annual event took on an agricultural theme, celebrating the end of summer and the beginning of autumn. But one thing that has never changed is the amount of beer consumed at the event. In 2022, approxima- tely 5.7 million litres of beer were consumed over the course of the two-week festival, less than the usual 7 million litres. Local brewer Brauwerk Hoffman is brin- ging back the German tradition to eastern Ontario with its Oktoberfest celebration at the end of September, though they don’t expect break any consumption records. Residents, both German and not, can enjoy German-inspired local craft beer, local food vendors and live music and entertain- ment at the RiverRock Inn and Conference Centre, September 22 and 23. The first day’s festivities include keg tap- ping, stein holding competition and traditional Oktoberfest music from the Edelweiss Duo. Saturday’s musical line up is Paddy PayStub, %BOOZ4ZMWFTUFSBOE/JLLF# &BTUCPVOEPG Bytown and Danny and Friends. Tickets can be purchased on the Brauwerk Hoffman website, www.brauwerkhoffman.ca

Nous aurons également le show & shine pour ceux qui ne font pas de tire et qui veulent montrer leur tracteur. Chaque classe aura un prix en argent cette année. Tous les profits seront remis aux Chevaliers de Colomb.
This year, our 3rd tractor pulling event is dedicated to Mr. Pierre Lortie (late) from Bourget. IT’S BEEN 10 YEARS SINCE HE LEFT US. We will also have the Show & Shine for those who don’t participate in the pulling but want to showcase their tractors. Each class will have a cash prize this year. All the proceeds will be donated to the Knights of Columbus.
