began work at the city of Edmonton as part of the team building the new Rec Center. Andrea grew up on the East Coast, just outside of Halifax, and completed a kinesiology degree at St. FX. She worked as a strength and con- ditioning coach, training military personnel, fire - fighters and athletes then moved to Edmonton by way of Toronto, to be closer to her siblings. Even before David began dating Andrea, he was already distilling, using a borrowed still from a friend. He soon went on to design his own still and began creating his own recipes. He met Andrea at the city Rec Center where she was part of the fitness staff that opened the building and as they say the rest is history, with a great future. Black Diamond Distillery was fully licensed and open for business on the 22nd of February 2018 as St. Albert’s first craft distillery. Andrea and David both feel strongly about pro- ducing all their own alcohol. They do not believe
that true craft spirits can be produced using shortcuts like flavour additives or mass-produced spirits. While certainly not the most profitable or efficient means of production, they have strived to stay true to the quality and authenticity of what they produce, using natural, pure, organic (when possible) ingredients, never waiver from the truest form of our craft – because they believe their customers deserve the best. Black Diamond Distillery’s Earl Grey Mule canned craft cocktail delivers on their promise. This ready-to-drink cocktail is made with all-natural ingredients, starting with Earl Grey Vodka and a special blend of ginger, black pepper, beet sugar and lime juice, which is then perfectly mixed in soda water, making this new member of the Black Diamond Distillery’s ready-to-drink canned cocktail the perfect drink for any event. Black Diamond products can be found in over 20 stores within Alberta, scattered across the province. To best serve their customers, the dis- tillery now offers online ordering with options for curbside pickup (4 locations), and free delivery within the greater Edmonton area. Don’t worry if you are not in the area as the distillery will also ship orders anywhere across Canada. So regard- less of where you are in Canada, we recommend that you give their Earl Grey Mule a try, as it is perfect for watching hockey with friends and family and this is one beverage that should be in your ice bucket come summer for sipping on the patio while social distancing.
