Greater Grand Rapids added more than 5,100 people throughout 2025, at an annual growth rate of 0.4%. Regional population growth slowed compared to the previous year, but matched the nation while outpacing Michigan.

Diverse communities drove the majority (70%) of annual population growth in Greater Grand Rapids from 2024 to 2025. This continues a long-standing trend throughout the region where population growth is fueled by diverse populations.
