Triton achieves a King’s Award for Enterprise
Triton’s next generation electric shower, ENVi®
Triton Showers is the UK’s leading shower manufacturer, employing over 280 people at its Shepperton Business Park headquarters in Nuneaton. Established in 1975, the business was founded in a small garage and has grown ever since by providing energy efficient electric and mixer showering products that are suitable for all types of British homes. By the late 1980s, there were already over 2 million Triton showers installed in bathrooms throughout the country – a figure that has only continued to increase year on year. In 1987, Triton became part of Norcros PLC, which is well known for its industry leading businesses, including bathroom brands that supply high-quality solutions offering innovative design, trusted quality, and outstanding service. As a proud British manufacturer, Triton also became a member of the not-for-profit organisation, Made in Britain, in 2014. Moving the dial on sustainability Triton has long promoted the benefits of electric showering as an efficient way of heating water only when needed. In 2019, the business entered an exciting phase in its development – arguably the biggest period of transformation in its history – which involved re-setting its vision, values and company ethos. This included outlining ambitious targets for reducing its carbon footprint and impact on the environment, while embedding sustainability at all levels of the business, from the top down. Just two years later, Triton achieved the Carbon Trust Standard for Carbon in 2021; followed by
being accredited with Carbon Neutral status in 2021; and again in 2022/23 – underlining its commitment to reducing carbon emissions year on year, as part of its ambition to achieve Carbon Net Zero by 2035. Future-focused In line with its sustainability ambitions, Triton’s latest electric shower innovation, ENVi®, has been verified and accredited by ClimatePartner – an independent partner, which has helped the business identify appropriate projects that enable carbon savings. Through this, Triton supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to improve lives, specifically via renewable energy production across Asia and removing plastic from the oceans with the Plastic Bank. As well as being honoured with a King’s Award for Enterprise in recognition of its outstanding commitment to Sustainable Development, Triton’s achievements have also been recognised by the Bathroom Manufacturers Association (BMA) for three consecutive years, with award wins including Workplace Initiative in 2021, Special Recognition in Driving Behaviour Change in 2022, and Carbon Reduction in 2023. The company’s action on behaviour change was also rewarded in 2023, with the Planet Mark Sustainability Campaign award. David Tutton, Managing Director at Triton, says: “Given our market-leading position, we believe it is our responsibility to champion the water, energy, and carbon saving benefits of showers at every opportunity. “Five years ago, we realised that having a true sustainability strategy would reinforce our business
case – supporting the need to decarbonise British homes through electric heat solutions, demonstrating carbon leadership, attracting, and retaining an engaged workforce, minimising environmental impacts, while also improving supply chain and organisational resilience. “Going forward, we are committed to achieving an ambitious ‘Net Zero by 2035’ target, with a near- term alignment target of 2028. There is a lot more to do but we are moving the dial and delivering solid progress, which makes the recognition we have received from the King’s Award for Enterprise so very special for everyone within our organisation who is working hard to deliver change.” TRITON SHOWERS Triton Road, Nuneaton, Warwickshire, CV11 4NR Tel: 02476 372222 • CXsupport@tritonshowers.co.uk www.tritonshowers.co.uk
