Atlantas Marine specialises in underwater offshore inspection equipment and services, working primarily in the offshore wind, oil and gas and defence industries. The Somerset- based company has been honoured this year with a King’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade. Founded in 2000, Atlantas Marine designs and manufactures underwater inspection cameras and equipment that enable marine inspections to be carried out using unmanned submersible vehicles (Remotely Operated Vehicles or ROVs), controlled on the surface by specialist ROV operators. The company has been the UK dealer of industry-leading VideoRay ROVs since 2001, supplying in excess of 400 systems. It also provides subsea offshore inspection services, technical support and training to customers worldwide. The inspection products and services provided by Atlantas Marine enable the owners and operators of equipment such as offshore wind turbines, oil platforms and ships to assess any issues relating to corrosion, faults or compliance with environmental requirements. Atlantas Marine was recognised with a King’s Award for Enterprise for its excellence in international trade, with the company’s overseas earnings growing by more than 300% over a three- Atlantas Marine Ltd
year period. Its share of overseas turnover within total turnover rose from 30% to 51%, with key export regions including Central and South America, Asia and Africa. One of its key areas of business growth is offshore wind. Having worked in the offshore renewables industry since 2014, Atlantas Marine is a market leader in the inspection
of wind farm assets. Its highly experienced team can operate ROV inspections from crew transfer vessels to undertake a comprehensive range of wind farm surveys including general visual inspections; anode surveys; cathodic protection measurement; subsea cable inspections; and underwater cleaning and removal of marine growth. Atlantas Marine has accrued thousands of hours of operational experience on offshore wind farms so is well-placed to advise on the best way to go about inspection work, as well as providing the equipment and expertise needed to carry
it out. Already operating at the majority of UK wind farms, Atlantas Marine is now expanding its sales and inspection services in Asia, as well as exploring opportunities in other emerging markets for offshore wind.
