LevertonHELM manufactures and develops lithium chemicals, working with global customers to find the best solutions for their applications. The company is delighted and honoured to be a recipient of the King’s Award for Enterprise in International Trade 2024 for the third consecutive time, having received the first Queen’s Award in 2014. With nearly 50 years of experience in lithium- based chemistry, the company is unique in being the sole UK manufacturer of these compounds with industrial customers based in all corners of the globe. In 2023 the company was acquired 100% by Helm AG one of a handful of global chemical trading companies. Helm AG has the ambition to become a leading player in the manufacture and distribution of lithium chemicals. This platform enhances the opportunity for LevertonHELM to trade on the sales expertise of Helm to further its growth potential. Supporting growing demand To support the growing demand for lithium chemicals in 2022 LevertonHELM expanded its UK operations by opening its third and biggest site to date of 190,000 sqft, giving total manufacturing and office space across three sites of approximately 250,000 sqft. A significant investment by the shareholders, it demonstrated a vote of confidence in the future strategy and opportunities for the lithium industry and the role that LevertonHELM will have in shaping that future for its benefit but also that of the UK.
Since the 2019 Queen’s Award the number of full-time employees has increased three-fold and further recruitment is planned. Employees are a key component of the company’s success and much effort is put into supporting them in their personal growth and what they can contribute to the business through external courses and long-term study programmes as well as internal training. A positive impact on the environment The continued development of electric vehicles gives a platform for lithium to play a significant role in everyday lives. LevertonHELM is proud to be part of the transformation that will lessen reliance upon fossil fuels and lead to a more sustainable future. The company’s products have
industrial applications, for example in Li-ion Batteries, glass and ceramics, cement and heat intensive greases. From the environmentally conscious sites to the production of components for lithium battery materials for electric vehicles the company understands the challenges the planet faces and the importance of ensuring the organisation actively works towards making a positive impact on the environment.
