Limpsfield Combustion Engineering is the world-leading manufacturer of hydrogen approved, industrial and commercial burners, offering complete solutions for combustion requirements, from stock-issued products to bespoke applications. Renowned for exceptional efficiency and reliability, a Limpsfield burner retrofit can deliver up to 35% fuel savings. The unique forced draft combustion design consistently maintains 3% O2 throughout the firing range, ensuring optimum burner efficiency with low emissions. It is the only manufacturer in the industry to guarantee this performance. All burners are low NOx, with an option for ultra-low NOx in selected applications for customers aiming for the greenest possible solution. Limpsfield products are proudly made in Britain. It manufactures 98% of its products in South London, which enables the team to fully tailor the company’s burner designs to its customers’requirements, from fan size to fuel types or bespoke colouring. Its burners fire all gaseous and liquid fuels, including hydrogen, natural gas, biogas, oil, bio- oil, and even bi-products like alcohol or chemical fumes. In addition, its customers can choose to fire up to seven fuels with ‘change on the fly’ between fuels. This overall versatility saves fuel and waste disposal costs, while also delivering on customers’ environmental agendas. A passion for maximum combustion efficiency Limpsfield was born out of Brendan Kemp’s desire to achieve maximum efficiency in plant rooms. When existing burner manufacturers fell short of his expectations, he engineered a high-efficiency
burner himself. Against much industry opposition, Brendan followed his vision, built the burner and found a test site for his prototype. Already a highly respected figure in the combustion industry, Brendan’s customers heard about the astounding burner performance and orders increased. The product range was diversified and fine-tuned into a burner design that could fire all oils and gases without modification, that was simple to work on, easy to install and delivered high efficiency throughout the firing range. Brendan asked Nick Guy to collaborate on the burner range design, subsequently attracting Keith Knowles to bolster burner sales. A tale of dedication and growth Over the past 26 years, Limpsfield has grown from the product invention into a multi-award winning export champion with a global partner network of over 60 Technology Centres. All partners are trained by the Limpsfield team to install and maintain its products. Together, the company has achieved 110% growth over three years. This has enabled Limpsfield to be awarded the prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade again, after having been honoured in 2013 in the same category. While emissions requirements will become increasingly stringent, the team at Limpsfield will continue to support their customers in achieving maximum efficiency in their plant rooms, with minimum or no emissions (fuel type dependent). In addition, they will continue to work with governmental and environmental steering groups on the adaptation of hydrogen and guidance needed to drive net zero in industrial processes.
