builders, with one example being the new MMZ machine non-contact switch. The world’s first (and only) stainless steel non-contact switch with cast-in LED indicators visible on three sides, the MMZ is a compact and versatile RFID safety interlock switch housed in mirror polished 316 stainless steel. It is suitable for monitoring doors, gates and other moveable safeguards which demand a high degree of manipulation protection. The integrated OSSD outputs are suitable for series connection up to 30 sensors, maintaining up to CAT4, SIL3, PLe in accordance with the latest international safety standards. Responding to the ever-evolving needs of Industry 4.0 for digital transformation and connectivity, IDEM’s recent introductions include a range of cutting-edge networked safety technologies. These intelligent devices, known as UGB-Net, are RFID solenoid-based locking switches with integrated industrial ethernet capabilities. IDEM has also introduced a range of custom- configurable ‘UGB-Netbox’ controls, recognising the importance of factory connectivity and customers’ needs to bespoke-programme at different production-line entry points and environments. Fully flexible for a whole range of modern manufacturing processes, these latest developments are testament to IDEM’s resolute commitment to keeping machinery safe and fully productive well into the future.
