Selection criteria

1 Wheel diameter

To cross obstacles the wheel diameter is very decisive. The obstacle should not be higher than 5 % of the wheel diameter if the wheels have a soft tyre (softer than 90° Shore A). Example: wheel diameter 100 mm = 2,5 mm high obstacle - pay attention to the condition of the ground surface - choose wheel diameter as big as possible

2 Load capacity

To calculate the load capacity:

C =

weight of the device + weight of the load Number of wheels or castors used

On uneven grounds often only three wheels are in contact with the floor, so that the load of a device with four wheels is just distributed on three wheels. 1) total weight of the device and load 2) number of wheels or castors 3) position of the wheels 4) wheels that are in contact with the ground

3 Wheel bearings

One of the most important criteria in the choice of wheels is the type of the bearing. We distinguish between four types of bearings: Plain bearing very high resistance to rolling and to start. For transport devices with low speed and little use. Advantage: cheap and resistant to corrosion, free of maintenance. Roller bearings Especially suitable for transport devices with low speed and with not too high load capacity. The resistance to rolling and to start is also with high load capacity comfortable, very robust and largely free of maintenace. Ball bearings also called deep-groove ball bearings. In all conditions best values are achieved, according to the load capacity the precision ball bearing offers the optimal solution. Very good quality in operation also at extreme load According to the mentioned criterias, the quality of the ground influences the choice of wheels decisive. Pay attention to influences of environment, surroundings, and load capacity. Our program of wheels and castors offers right tyres for every use. 4 Ground surface conditions
