These must meet HMRC standards. Gambling Tax for Agents online service This guide explains how to register for the Gambling Tax for Agents online service and how clients authorise agents to act for them. The guidance describes how to sign up for the Gambling Tax Online for Agents service for General Betting Duty (GBD), Pool Betting Duty (PBD) and Remote Gaming Duty (RGD).

Voluntary and Community Sector Funding from HMRC 27 October 2015

The latest tax agent blog from HMRC contains a reminder for tax Agents who work in the Voluntary and Community Sector that time is running out if they want to apply to HMRC for funding.

HMRC have committed to allocating a guaranteed £1.5m per year over the next 3 years to the voluntary and community sector (VCS) to support customers who need extra help understanding and complying with their tax obligations and claiming their entitlements – this will include supporting those customers who are currently digitally excluded. Bids for funding can range between £10,000 and £450,000 per annum, with a maximum threshold set at 50% of your organisation’s turnover, according the most recently audited accounts and should include one or more of the following activities:  Advice and Support  Digital inclusion  Specialist support and referrals

The deadline of 8 November 2015, for receipt of completed applications, is fast approaching if you think your organisation might benefit from accessing this funding full details are available on GOV.UK .

HMRC Working Together with Tax Agents through the use of Talking Points 23 November 2015

The CIPP has been working together with HMRC and the founding professional bodies of the Working Together partnership, as they develop a digital method of continuing the Working Together partnership with Tax Agents.

“As part of Working Together we are trialling some interactive online sessions called "Talking Points". These sessions are an opportunity for agents to hear from, and question, subject matter experts from HMRC about different topics.

Subject: Office of Tax Simplification (OTS) - Small Companies Review

This will be a chance to hear an update from the OTS on their work, with a focus on their current project on simplifying the tax system for small companies. They are keen to hear you thoughts and would like your input to help develop recommendations for Ministers on how to simplify the system, increase certainty and reduce administrative burdens.
