Biola Broadcaster - 1965-07

W A L K BY FAITH God never would send you the dark ness If He felt you could bear the light, But you would not cling to His guiding hand If the way were always so bright; And you would not care to walk by faith If you could always walk by sight. T is true He has many an anguish For your sorrowful heart to bear And many a cruel thorn-crown For your tired head to wear. He knows how few would reach heav en at all If pain did not guide them there, So He sends you the blinding dark ness And the furnace of seven-fold heat; T is the only way, believe me, To keep you close to His feet. For "tis always so easy to wander When our lives are glad and sweet. Then nestle your hand in your Father's And sing, if you can, as you go. Then your song may cheer someone behind you, Whose courage is sinking low. W H A T M AKES A NATION GREAT Not lengthy ranks with flags unfurled Nor armored ships that gird the world, Not horded wealth, nor busy mills, Not cattle on a thousand hills, Not sages wise, nor schools, nor laws. Not boasted deeds in freedom's cause— And all these may be and yet the state In the eyes of God be far from great. That land is great which knows the Lord, Whose songs are guided by His Word. Where justice rolls 'twixt man and man, Where love controls an act and plan, Where breathing in his native air, Each soul finds joy in praise and prayer— Thus may our country, good and great, Be God's delight— man's best state. — Alexander Blackburn copy of this publication, please pass it along to a friend so that he may also enroll in the Plan and receive these helpful monthly features from the broadcasts.
