While living conditions in Mexico are often un pleasant, missionaries do take advantage of cheap servant help. Farsons employ Esther Juarez to do cooking, pay her small salary, board and room.
Servant girl's daughter Ana lives with Farsons. One of the big problems facing both natives and missionaries is disease. It is unsafe to use milk, butter, water or uncooked vegetables, fruits. Standard cure is arsenic treatment; but one missionary claimed excellent results by using an American-made wash ing powder detergent.
