National Organization for Business and Engineering (NOBE) The National Organization for Business and Engineering’s (NOBE) mission is to bring together individuals at corporate and academic institutions interested in both business and engineering and to integrate these fields into one practice. LENS Diversity Certificate The LENS Diversity Certificate Program is a year-long cohort program that helps Illinois students build important skills and practice engaging diversity on campus and beyond. LENS Diversity Certificate participants take courses, attend workshops and regular cohort meetings, and design their own action project. Morrill Engineering Program (MEP) Morrill Engineering Program (MEP) was developed to attract and retain qualified students from underrepresented groups in engineering including African American, Native American, Latina/o, Women of all ethnicities, people with disabilities, and economically disadvantaged individuals. PRIDE at the University of Illinois PRIDE seeks to create an inclusive, social, and active space for LGBT+ students at the University of Illinois. Its mission is to create a network of LGBT+ Illini that can both support and advocate for each other. Additionally, PRIDE serves as a facilitator for collaborations among other LGBT Resource Center-affiliated student organizations and promotes LGBT- themed events in the Champaign-Urbana community.
Water Environment Federation - American Water Works Association (WEF/AWWA) The mission of WEF/AWWA is to maintain a vested interest in the study of water and continue to learn through guidance and experience provided by networking with industry professionals and faculty.
Illinois Scholars Undergraduate Research Program (ISUR) The College of Engineering Illinois Scholars Undergraduate Research Programs (ISUR) was created to provide research opportunities to underrepresented students in engineering (Women and/or African American, Latino/a, and Native American). Through this program, Undergraduate Scholars are offered a unique opportunity to expand their academic experience beyond the walls of the traditional classroom. Illinois Solar Decathlon (ISD) Illinois Solar Decathlon is an interdisciplinary student organization that competes in the international, Department of Energy- sponsored Solar Decathlon Build and Solar Decathlon Design competitions. ISD seeks to lead innovation in design and technology to advance toward an environmentally sustainable future. Illinois Robotics in Space (IRIS) IRIS is a multidisciplinary organization that gives students the opportunity to develop an innovative robotic system in a peer-based learning environment. The club fosters systems thinking through the development, manufacturing, and operation of complex, space-oriented machines. IRIS actively shares its mission with the Champaign-Urbana community in order to help inspire the next generation of STEM students.
Illinois Space Society (ISS) Illinois Space Society is a technical,
professional, and social student organization with 150+ members, who all share a passion for science, technology, and space exploration.
Institute for Solar Photovoltaic Innovation, Research, and Edu- training (InSPIRE) InSPIRE promotes scientific and economic growth through ongoing collaboration with academia, government, and organizations. It provides a platform for innovation and job creation through edu-training and workforce development that will benefit students and members of the community. I-STEM I-STEM is an interdisciplinary coalition which aims to foster accessible, effective STEM teaching and learning—from preschool through graduate education—at local, state, and national levels, thereby preparing a highly able citizenry and diverse STEM workforce to tackle pressing global challenges.
WYSE (Worldwide Youth in Science & Engineering) Academic Challenge The Academic Challenge is a competitive series of tests created and administered by Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering and offered to high school students in Illinois and Missouri. The tests are now offered by more than 50 community colleges and universities and are designed to present a challenge to the brightest students.
