"In every thing by prayer and supplica tion with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God” (Phil. 4:6). Life is made up of. little things. If we attempt to stand in our own strength under little trials, we shall fall, which is dis honoring to God. W e have not a particle of strength to carry any burdens, little or great; therefore we must bring them all to God. I f we attempt to carry them, we shall find that they increase in weight----- Our heavenly Father . . . has told us to roll all our cares on Him. Therefore it is so deeply important “in every thing by prayer and supplication,” to “ let your requests be made known unto God.” . . . . And will not our heavenly Father give it [the answer] to us, seeing that He hath.bestowed His greatest gift, even His Son, upon us? •— G eorge M u ll e r . FEBRUARY 24 The Coming Day "The day cometh, that shall burn as an oven” (Mai. 4:1 ). In the fifteenth verse of the third chap ter o f Malachi you find these words: “And now we call the proud happy; yea) they that work wickedness are set up.” Now notice chapter four, verse 1: “All the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble.” Do you see the change? When that day cometh, the old order of things shall be reversed. Today you are setting up the wicked, calling them happy ; but when God’s day breaks, the proud and wicked shall be as stubble. The “set-up” things of an apostate age shall be stubble >

FEBRUARY 25 A Lesson in Humility

“Be clothed with humility’’ (1 Pet. 5:5). Now they began to go down the hill into the valley of humiliation. It was a steep hill, and the way was slippery. . . . Then said Mr. Greatheart, “W e need not be afraid o f this valley, for here is nothing to hurt us, unless, we procure it to our selves.” . . . Now as they were going along, and talking, they espied a boy feeding his father’s sheep. The boy was in very mean clothes, but of a fresh and well-favored countenance; and as he sat by himself, he sang: . . . “He that is down need fear no fa ll; After some time continuing here, they are more reconciled and contented; for here they find the visits of their L ord ; and, in the depths of their humility, they be hold the heights of His love, and the depths of His mercy, and cry out with joy, “Where sin abounds)'grace superabounds.” ■ B —J ohn B u n y a n . He that is low, no pride to;»: He that is humble ever shall Have God to be his guide.”
