trust in Him because of such a testi mony! Faith tells us what Christ has done, is doing, and will do for trusting hearts. When this truth is presented in a helpful and interesting way, ,faith is communicated and salvation takes place in the heart. Paul spoke .of Jesus in such a way that many be lieved upon Him. He sang about Jesus in such a manner that his jailer trust ed in Jesus. He so preached about Jesus that Agrippa was almost per suaded to follow Him. Faith presents this lovely Person as the object of the heart’s affection and the soul’s trust. Faith- breaks rules and laws of nature ,and expects God to act for the glory of His Name. 2. FAITH RECOGNIZES THE NEED (Heb. 11:7). Because Noah believed, he built the ark and his family was saved. Be cause Paul believed, the sailors on the ship were saved. Our faith certainly does bring blessing to many. Lot wanted to stay by Abraham because he saw that Abraham believed God and thereby blessing came. As we look at our friends and see them rush ing here and there to find pleasure, peace, and profit, we are moved with compassion. They are seeking for something that they can never f in d - satisfaction. We see their hungry hearts longing for a knowledge which the world cannot give. As we see this desire, it is our privilege to tell them of the One who invites them to come to Him for rest (Matt. 11:28). He will meet all of their heart’s desires. 3. FAITH BRINGS TO JESUS (Luke 18:40). It is not enough’ to describe^ a loaf of bread to a hungry man. It is not enough to paint the picture of a fire for someone who is freezing. We must bring the friend to the table for food, and to the fire for warmth. Having observed the blessedness of the pres ence of Christ, we shall want others to meet Him personally, and to learn to know individually that wonderful love and grace which He so freely be stows. We shall so speak of the Sa viour as the Shepherd of the sheep, the High Priest, the Lord of glory, the Creator, the Guide, the Lover of the soul that others may be drawn to Him and fall in love with Him. Thus we shall share our knowledge of Christ with our friends; and they too will find in Him that which satis fies the heart for; time and eternity. 4. FAITH U N D E R S T A N D S THE SCRIPTURES (Rom. 10:17). Those who are blinded by Satan see no beauty whatever in the Word of God. Except a man is born again, he cannot “see” those things that pertain to lieaven and the kingdom. Faith grasps the thoughts that are in God’s heart as revealed by His words. Be cause this is true, we have entrusted
