T HE K I N G ' S B U S I N E S S is in the name of an organization, or in the name of an individual. But a cup of cold water given in His name, for His glory, will not fail of reward. Christ sits on the judgment seat and sees all things; knows all things. The harlot woman who anointed His feet will be rewarded; Mary, of Bethany, will be rewarded; the widow who cast in her two mites, which was her all, will be highly rewarded. The motive which prompts the serv ice is taken into account. The husband and wife who honor Christ in the home; who bring up their children in the fear of the Lord, will be rewarded; the man in business, and the woman in social life, who honor the Lord, and are faith ful in testimony, will be rewarded. In the work shop, in the school, every where that we permit the light to shine, —-He sees and will reward. Whenever and wherever we gladly surrender our own desires and comforts and sacrifice our own interests for His glory, He will have it before Him. There are prizes to be obtained by running, and crowns to win by service. The gift of money counts, and so does the gift of human life. Personal work, in soul-winning, counts. So does the seed-sowing of tracts and Gospels. Teaching, preaching, testifying,—these all are recorded in the book which is kept in the archives of Heaven. There is the crown of life for the faithful (Jas. 1:12): “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation; for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.” Rev. 2:10: “Fear none of those things which ihou shalt suffer; behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days; be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee the crown of life.”

There is an incorruptible crown to those who keep under the body, and bring all their powers into subjection to Him (1 Cor. 9:25): “And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we are an incorruptible.” There is a crown of rejoicing to the soul winner (1 Thess. 2:19): “For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming? For ye are our glory and joy.” There is a crown of glory for the faithful shepherd, pastor and teacher who cares for the flock (1 Pet. 5:4): “And when the Chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.” A crown of righteousness for those who love His appearing (2 Tim. 4:8): “Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord the righteous Judge shall give me at that day, and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” Crowns are for those who win them; glorious crowns to put at His feet. Here is a challenge from our Lord to every follower of His. There is salvation for every believer, without money and without price, an eternal future life. There are crowns and rewards for those who care more for the Lord and His interests than for the baubles and bubbles of the world. You can take your choice. (3) There is the judgment of the living nations, as recorded in our les son. The judgment seat will be in Jerusalem (Jer. 3:17): “At that time they shall call Jerusa lem the throne of the Lord; and all the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the Lord, to Jerusalem; neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of their evil heart.”
