Overall Opinions of NPD: Esteem, Strengths, Weaknesses, Value (cont’d)

 Nearly half (47%) of the respondents either offered no suggestions or negative feedback, including 17% who said there is nothing they dislike at all. The remaining 53% gave a range of concerns or suggested improvement, including:  More programs and events (33%) especially youth programming (mostly pre-K), the need for more programs that are in high demand (registration fills up too fast), and programs at different times (e.g., weekends), followed by more programming for adults and seniors  Management/Admin/Staff improvements (19%), most often a need for more/better communications, issues with the website (often regarding registration issues/slots filling up too quickly)  Parks and trails (17%), usually wanting more trails and connectivity, better maintained parks, more amenities (e.g., pavilions, benches)  Facility-related comments (14%), including more sports courts (tennis, pickleball most often)  Lower costs/fees (12%)  On average, residents think the NPD represents 8.4% of their property taxes (consistent with 2017 estimates, and higher than its actual 5% share). When informed that 5% of their property taxes goes to the NPD, resident continue to rate its overall value favorable (7.4 on a 0-10 scale).  Overall, 78% feel the District represents a good/great/excellent value, vs. just 8% who say it is a poor value. This is consistent whet previous waves back to 2009.
