Assessment of NPD Core Values
The Key Values of “Health & Wellness”, “Public Safety”, and “Accessibility” are Deemed Most Important and District Strengths
At least half feel that among the six core values for the Naperville Park District, the following rank among the top three in terms of importance: Health & Wellness (especially important to older adults, African Americans) Public Safety (especially among Asian Americans) Accessibility (especially among longer-term residents) Across these three core values residents feel that each is a “strength” or an area that the NPD is fulfilling by at least a 2:1 margin, over those who say each is a “weakness” or needs more attention. Residents are more divided on the District’s performance on the three remaining core values, deemed less important overall: Environmental Education/Stewardship/Sustainability (most important to those in the NE region) Community Enrichment (no significant differences) Personal Growth & Enrichment (slightly more important to White residents and households with children) Of these, a slightly plurality feel the District is doing a good job on “Community Enrichment”, but they generally feel that the NPD can do more on “Environmental Education/Stewardship/Sustainability” and “Personal Growth/Enrichment”.
