Executive Summary

NPD Information Sources

Residents Continue to Rely Mostly on the NPD Website (and the digital Program Guide) for Information, Followed by District Mailings/Newsletters

 Three fourths (75%) look to the District website when seeking information about NPD activities, events, facilities, etc. This is up from 68% in 2017.  Another 38% mention the digital quarterly Program Guide on the site (not tested in 2017). Residents aged 35 and 44 years old, those with children, and Asian Americans tend to refer to the website.  District mailings and newsletters rank third among top sources for NPD information (30%, up from 20% in 2017), and is especially used by women and older residents (ages 65+).  Social media is also on the rise as a source for NPD information (17%, up from 11% in the last survey), especially among younger/newer residents.  Men are most likely to continue to rely on word of mouth from friends and neighbors (23% overall, similar to 2017).

 When asked for their #1 preferred source, most cite either the NPD website (37%) or the digital Program Guide (18%). These are followed by District mails and newsletters (15%), or calling an NPD office/facility (12%)
