NPD Weaknesses

Sample Verbatims: NPD Weaknesses

Programs/Events (33%): “Over the years, there has not been sufficient access to classes for all interested. Everyone should have a space available for them. need to increase classes to accommodate interest.” “Lack of space in certain events.” “It is very stressful getting into programs. The programs fill up fast. Many times because of that we go to another town.” “Tough to get in many children's sports and events.” “Not enough early childhood. More late afternoon, early evening for over 65 group.” “Not many options for kids under 5. Very few spots for enrolling.” “I wish there were more times for kid's gymnastics and that the classes were not so crowded.” “Need more exercise classes at different time slots and days.” “I miss the summer events we used to have.” “Need full day camps so I don't have to take off work to get kid to/from activities.” “Perhaps more winter recreation options. A community skating rink downtown with rentals and nice lights and music. Maybe cross-country ski rentals and trails. Something to encourage community involvement and participation for all the winter months” “Not enough older adult programs.” “More selection of classes and events for adults on the weekend.” “Not enough trips for seniors.” “More activities for adults to meet other adults to make friends. Great for people who are new to Naperville.” “Offerings for middle age groups- less than 60 years old but older than 30.” Staff/Management (19%): “You no longer mail out the seasonal activity guides. I always miss the dates to register for activities for my kids.” “Can't think of anything regard programs. Please print some Program Guides. Don't mail to every household but you have excluded anyone without a computer, internet, or computer skills. Everyone pays taxes but not everyone can see the programs!” “I don't really feel like it is easy to find out what is going on with the park district. It isn't promoted very much.” “Marketing and outreach.” “Website is not easy to find what you are looking for. It's confusing for people when the various registration dates are. Some programs such as soccer has a separate registration date, but it doesn't say the date on the soccer page. The activity pages on the website are too vague and don't have enough important information (cost, reg. dates, links to maps, schedules, rules, etc.). They also are very inconsistent..” “Registration process is sometimes hard - can't easily find courses, especially when on my mobile phone.” “I do not like the sign-up process for soccer and baseball.” “I dislike some of the sign-up times.” “Spending too much money when they renovate a neighborhood park playground when the playground is still in good condition.” “I understand their policy is to take the lowest bid for projects; you should re-evaluate. You're not always getting the best product for the long-term.” “Seems to be too many workers and not enough workers actually working.” “The Naperville Park District website states, 'Created in 1966, the Naperville Park District is an independent, municipal agency serving the recreation needs of its residents.' Unfortunately, Naperville Park District no longer serves its residents, nor has it been the source of much recreation. Instead, it has become almost entirely consumed by COVID and mask politics.”
