2022 Community Interest and Opinion Survey

COVID Impact on NPD Usage (Since Early 2020)

When asked how their usage of NPD outdoor locations changed since the start of COVID (early 2020), nearly half report no change and the rest divide between reporting increased vs. decreased usage during that time.  By comparison, just over half (52%) said they reduced their visits or usage of NPD indoor facilities, vs. only 6% who said they used them more often vs. pre-COVID. The rest (42%) report no change during that timeframe.  Again, this is self-reported change in overall usage. The survey did not probe as to whether any shifts in usage were personal choice vs. changes to facility hours/availability during COVID.
