 Increase knowledge and awareness of environmental initiatives and sustainability.  Increase knowledge and awareness of local nature and natural resources.  Encourage implementation of environmental best practices.  Improve overall health & wellness.  Increase self-confidence, reduce obesity, and reduce stress.  Increase knowledge and awareness of healthy lifestyle habits.  Develop friendships and increase social interactions.  Enrich quality of life through promoting a healthier lifestyle.  Promote health & wellness, family bonding and community engagement.  Enhance community collaboration through partnership opportunities with local businesses, schools and non-profit organizations.  Enhance public knowledge, awareness and appreciation of different activities and cultures.  Develop friendships and increase social interactions.  Enjoy play and have equal opportunities for participation.  Increase knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the game.  Learn good sportsmanship, teamwork, responsibility and discipline.  Feel a sense of accomplishment and enhanced self-esteem.  Improve health & wellness.  Build life-long skills.

Recreation Programming Plan Guide: Recreational experiences developed and offered by the District will be consistent with its Mission, Vision, Philosophy, Goals, Objectives, and Core Values. Programs and services are evaluated against the mission of the District. Leader-directed programs also are evaluated against core values, and in most cases must meet a minimum of 3 core value areas to remain a viable District offering. Programs that do not meet a minimum of 3 core values either will be restructured or eliminated/not offered. Existing programs will be measured against cohorts to
