Maintenance Level Guidelines

1.0 Turf Care – Low frequency mowing schedule based on species. Low growing grasses may not be mowed. High grasses may receive periodic mowing to aid public use or reduce fire danger. This would be a rough cut, 3-5 inches high limited to zero to four mowing cycles per year. 1.1 Turf Care Weed Removal – Noxious weeds only will be removed. 1.2 Turf Care Fertilizer – Not fertilized. 1.3 Turf Care Irrigation – No irrigation. 2. Litter Control – Once per week or less depending on observation. 3. Tree and Shrub Care – No regular trimming. Safety or damage from weather dictates actual work schedule. 4. Disease and Insect Control – None except where epidemic and epidemic condition threatens resource or public. 5. Winter Operations – None except where major access-ways, school/commuter routes, or active parking areas dictate the need for removal. See Appendix A… Winter Work Responsibilities for details.

6. Lighting – None 7. Surfaces – None 8. Repairs – Will be done whenever the safety or function is in question. 9. Inspections – Once per month. 10. Floral Plantings – None 11. Restrooms – None 12. Park Equipment – None 13. Special Features – Minimum maintenance to allow safe use. 14. Special Usage – Undeveloped park land.
