Kingshill Park

Area 8 Crestview Knoll Park The plan will be to evaluate these parks during the 2018 and 2019 seasons to make sure that our weed controls and fertilizations are not falling behind. Each park will also be evaluated during those 24 months to see if additional aerations would be necessary to improve turf quality. If one of those eight parks is currently a Mode III park, which would commonly receive a minimum of one aeration per season, then the new plan would be to perform a minimum of two aerations on the turf with the new program. This will assist in developing a good strong root system and reduce compaction. The fertilization plan for all other parks and athletic fields that in the past had received a bulk fertilizer application containing 20% Milorganite. They will now be receiving an application of a similar analysis that will be containing 35% Milorganite, which is considered natural/organic. Soil Testing – selected parks and athletic fields have the soil tested to determine nutrient needs of the turf. These soil tests assist us with determining what bulk fertilizer analysis will be for the season along with rates. At times we may add gypsum or lime as the soil tests indicate. Top Dressing – the District has completed some trials of top dressing with bio-solids and compost. Signage – Staff is in the process of redesigning the cards that are placed near the entrances to the parks, notifying the public of current applications of fertilizer and weed control in the landscape beds and turf. These signs provide the public with the date, time, product name, and contact phone number for additional information if needed. Staff is also working on the program to get these signs posted out into the parks a few days in advance of the applications. 12. Shop Cleanup/Cold Storage Cleaning and maintaining shop and garages. Maintenance Level Guidelines Garages will be maintained daily by pickup of debris and sweeping of floor. Tools will be put away daily and all equipment washed weekly. 13.
