Maintenance Level Guidelines

Pavilions will be clean, sanitary and free of graffiti. Electrical plugs, lights, appliances, fans and hot water heaters are operational and in good condition and comply with current building codes. Pavilions are structurally sound, cleanly painted with no rotten lumber or rusted metal, no loose siding or loose shingles. Doors, windows, screens and locks are operational. Water fountains, water faucets, exhaust vent fans and hose bib connections are operational. Interior kitchens are equipped with an operational fire extinguisher. Pavilions are relatively pest and rodent free and regularly treated for ants, wasps, termites and mice. Signage with reservation and rules information and emergency telephone numbers is in a noticeable location. Pavilions comply with the Americans With Disabilities Act requirements. 14.2 Shelters Inspect according to PM schedule for any structural or electrical damage, and make repairs as needed. Clean weekly or after every use; pick up ground litter, debris and remove any hazards. Power wash as needed. Shelters will be cleaned, sanitary and free of graffiti. Signage with reservation and rules information and emergency telephone numbers is in a noticeable location. 14.3 Picnic Tables Tables will be inspected monthly for Trades and bi-annually for Parks for loose, damaged, or missing parts and hardware and repaired as necessary. Tables will be clean and free of rust, mildew and graffiti. Table frames are intact and slats are properly secured; seats and tops are smooth with no protrusions and have no exposed sharp edges or pointed corners. All table hardware is intact. 14.4 Grills Inspect monthly for worn, damaged or missing parts and repair as needed. Inspect for fire hazards such as underbrush, low limbs and debris, and remove it immediately. Grills are operational and free of rust and metal deterioration. Grill racks are clean and free of grease build-up; remove old coals as needed. 14.5 Trash Receptacles Empty trash barrels (pull liners) if it is more than half full, sooner if it has a strong odor or is attracting numerous insects, wash out barrels as needed. Inspect receptacles weekly for worn, damaged or missing parts and repair as soon as possible. Clean the areas around the receptacles and roll-off containers as needed. Receptacles are painted and free of damage or missing parts and will contain lids. Hardware for surface mounted receptacles is intact. Concrete receptacles intact and free of cracks or damage. 15.
