Maintenance Level Guidelines

Daily drag and line the field for play. On weekends, if dragging/lining is required after readying the fields for play, this work will be performed by the softball coordinator or umpire, who will have access to all necessary equipment. Maintain home plates, pitching rubbers, and base anchors in a safe condition by daily inspection and replacement as necessary. Daily police the entire ball diamond area for litter, rocks, etc. All light systems will be inspected on a daily basis by permit holders, with any failures or problems reported to the Parks Manager of that park immediately upon discovery. Weekly litter removal under all bleacher areas. Re-grade limestone screening dugout/runway/coaches box areas as needed to ensure positive drainage. Perform mechanical or chemical edging of all sod/skin, sod/screening interfaces as required to maintain a crisp field appearance in accordance with design specifications. Resod worn areas such as in front of mounds, outfield areas, infield turf areas, etc., as needed to maintain the field per “ideal” layout s pecifications. Lifting of sod, removal of soil, and relaying of sod is often required in areas where mix moves onto turf areas, creating a lip (base paths, inside/outside skin area). Cultivate and reseed wear areas in and around the field of play as needed. 21. Special Events Activity includes those tasks required for set up maintenance during and at take down of designated special events. These events, though not all-inclusive, include Last Fling, Halloween Happening, and Ribfest. Maintenance Level Guidelines Special events are coordinated by ad-hoc teams with labor effort and other responsibilities distributed among divisions. All assignments will be furnished on work orders for accountability and time-line schedules. All purchases will be approved by the designated individual assigned authority. 22. Parking Lot Maintenance District parking lots fall into two categories; paved and unpaved. Both are maintained to provide a safe alternative to street parking to our park patrons . Maintenance Level Guidelines Parking lot preventative maintenance is essential if you wish to delay the deterioration and extend the service life of the structure. Preventative maintenance will consist of yearly inspections of the surface, signage and wheel stops for both paved and unpaved lots.
