Maintenance Level Guidelines

Night Shift Responsibilities 1. Broom Ice Rinks — Remove ice shavings and snow from all rinks. 2. Apply Water — According to directions.

3. Basin Lights; Centennial Park — After work has been completed, shut off basin lights for general and hockey rinks. There are three (3) switch locations. South light poles (face north) to be used only during night shift. 4. Equipment · No equipment is to be left outside. · All equipment must be fueled up and washed off for next day’s use. · Write up equipment problems and tag machines. 5. Miscellaneous Work — Miscellaneous work assignments may be given to night shift other than ice work. 6. Shop Building — When leaving shop area for ice rink work: Always lock shop doors. Always lock gates. 7. End of Shift · Clean out trucks. · Straighten and store all hoses and equipment. 8. All personal cars are to be parked in the public parking lot. 9. Daily Ice Rink Condition Report Documentation · Temperature — lows and highs · Precipitation and length · Condition of ice at end of shift · Tasks performed, explaining number of coats put down, method of application. 10. Recreation Notification: · Gary Foiles at 630-848-3536 or his cell phone at 630-408-0354 to communicate ice rink conditions. If no answer, leave message on recorder. State clearly and specifically rink conditions. Gary Foiles will use this information to update N.P.D. phone line for ice rink and sled hill conditions. Very Important to Follow: Hit button on pole to operate lights after 11:00 pm, turn off breakers for North Poles 1 & 2. Then push override/Enter on time clock. To shut lights off, push override/Enter on time clock and turn on breakers for North Poles 1 & 2. * Lights must warm-up before they actually light-up. * If lights are turned off and need to be turned back on, they must cool down first – approx. 20 minutes. 2-7
