Maintenance Level Guidelines
In Case of Frozen Hydrant A. Shut off hydrant.
B. Disconnect hose from hydrant. C. Put two handfuls of ice melt inside hydrant, let sit for a few minutes. D. Re-open hydrant. Water should shoot out. Let it run to remove any ice melt left inside hydrant. E. Re-attach hose and you’re ready to go. F. Repeat if necessary. Report any and all hydrant problems to your supervisor as soon as possible.
