Maintenance Level Guidelines
Snow Removal Equipment Operation Reminder of Do’s and Don’ts
DO • Check equipment thoroughly before operating. Familiarize yourself with all controls • Report all equipment and mechanical damage immediately • Engage PTO only when implement is on the ground and equipment is stopped • Throttle no more than half way before engaging PTO, full throttle when operating • Idle machine before shutting off • Always adjust chute away from cars, buildings, pedestrians • Always use a stick to clear blower chute and free fins, with machine turned off
DON’T • Do not adjust chains or springs • Do not force implement beyond its turning radius
• Do not ram into or force machine to operate under heavy snow or slush • Never engage PTO when implement is in raised position or moving • Never use your hands to clear blower and chute
