Planning Area 5 Area 5 is located in central Naperville, south of 75th Street and west of the DuPage River. The boundaries of Area 5 consist of Naperville/Plainfield Road to the west, 75th Street to the north, the West Branch of the DuPage River and Washington Street to the east, and the DuPage River to the south. Area 5 is 5.41 square miles. 2020 Census Population (Estimated): 21,723 Existing Open Space: 560.40 Acres
Area 5 is largely made up of residential subdivisions that are predominantly single family. The eastern portion of the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County’s Springbrook Prairie and the Forest Preserve District of Will County’s DuPage River Confluence Preserve serve as additional open space for residents in this area. The Conservation Foundation is located in this area as well.
